I changed the IP address of my OpenVPN instance.  I can still login using the web. I downloaded the profile, loaded into Tunnelblick.  It returns the error

"Tunnelblick could not find a 'tun' or a 'tap' option in the OpenVPN configuration file."

What am I doing wrong?

You may not be doing anything wrong.

This error message can appear when Tunnelblick has trouble parsing the OpenVPN configuration file. That could be a bug in Tunnelblick or a problem in the configuration file.

Please follow the instructions at Read Before You Post to get the info needed to diagnose problems and then post that info. Since you won't be able to connect, just try to connect and then get the diagnostic info after you are shown the error message.

Was the VPN working properly before your changed the server's IP address? If all you changed was the server's IP address, why did you download a new profile (instead of just changing the IP address in the existing, working profile)?

Brian - If the problem is something in the configuration file, I would to find out what, so I can fix Tunnelblick to detect and correct it or at least warn about it instead of producing this misleading error message.

Feel free to email it to me directly (devel...@tunnelblick.net) if you don't want to post the configuration file publicly.
