Dear all,

What is the best way to format an image in a Tumblr post so that it appears in the right proportions when the post in embedded in a site using the API? or alternatively how can the API be adjusted to display images posted in Tumblr post in its right dimensions? we used the API to embed Tumblr posts in a site but the images appear on the site distorted.
TIA for your help.

Hi CrisB,

The images shown in posts should maintain the original dimensions that they were posted with. Are you seeing something else?

Hi Mike,
yes I am seeing something else.. please take a look at the section Actualités in this site: www.savebelgium.org  You see two sliders that use the Tumblr API and you can see the pictures look distorted compared to the nice ones posted in Tumblr... any ideas how to fix this? TIA

I think you may re-scaling them in the browser by adding a style of “height:100%; width:100%" to the <img> tag.

If I look at the raw images, they are in the correct proportions. For example: http://56.media.tumblr.com/c3138893834bd8660d1f795e436a630f/tumblr_nzibfhiwE31v1683uo1_500.jpg

Hi Mike,
Yes we already added a style of “height:100%; width:100%" to the <img> tag. That's how it is right now and still we get distorted images...
Any other suggestions? thanks!

Try removing one or both of those styles and you'll see the difference :)

We have one concern though... would removing one or both of those styles change the size of the slider in actualités: www.savebelgium.org ?

Thanks for your help!

It probably would. But those are questions for a css forum instead of here. :)
