Search the whole of tumblr with the API

Hi,

I am a developer at Spezify.com, a search tool that uses different
public apis to present search results.
I would love to add the Tumblr API to this mix but i can't find any
method that lets me do a search on all blogs.
What I would like is exactly what http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/spezify
is doing , but using the API.
Is that possible?

Anyone from Tumblr care to comment on this? Is this on their roadmap? Timeline? This is a desirable feature.

Bumpty bump.

My goal is to create a slideshow based on some criteria. I could of course do this by filtering the dashboard feed, but my ultimate goal is to do it with a search.
The API does not appear to support this, so my main question is: are there any plans for supporting it?

The tag page support that Felix references is indeed available in the api. See https://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/api/v2#tagged-method for details.
