Hello, I have a custom Tumblr share implementation using the following URL:

The parameters I pass to this URL include the canonicalUrl, posttype (video), tags, content (IFRAME embed code), and caption. All parameters are URL-encoded.

The URL loads up fine in my browser, I see the Tumblr single-post view, but when I go to actually publish the post, I get the following error:

Sorry, that URL is being weird. Might want to try the embed code instead.

If I take the raw IFRAME embed code and just paste it into the video embed field, then I can post fine.

What am I doing wrong? Is it not possible to use the share widget this way?

You can test my implementation here:

Click the green "Share" link at the bottom right. The IFRAME embed code and Tumblr share button are both inside the share tray.

Hey Christian -

Apologies for the delay in our reply. This looks like it's a bug on our end and we're currently looking into it. Thanks for reporting! I'll post back after we've deployed a fix.

Best wishes,
Corinne.

Hey Christian -

Thanks much for your patience! We just deployed a fix for this. I took a look at your site and it looks like you removed the tumblr share button (which makes sense!) so I couldn't test that specifically to confirm. But if you add the button back in, everything should be good now. Please let me know if you run into any trouble.

Cheers,
Corinne.
Thank you Corinne!
