Hi,

As you must know you can print directly a report from the client. But will you
find useful that the client ask you how much copy you want?

Yeah, having a regular print dialog would be really cool and look much
more integrated into the OS the user is using (MacOSX, Windows or
Linux), however, I'm not sure how easy would that be, I would prefer to
avoid doing our own custom dialog...

Cheers.

imho its better to define how much copies you get in a central way like
how many times invoices are print, or if a special customer wants an
additional print or everytime 4 copies. so the user don't have to think
about which customer wants how much copies.
maybe we can take a look if its a reprint (not printing again 4 copies,
only one)

its not a good idea to present a user an additional extra-click which he
maybe never change. for that he can use the non-direct print method to
define the copies in openoffice or a pdf reader.

would be useful for every kind of report in a dynamic way. like more
delivery notes if you have to load an additional truck (thinking somehow
big).

Maybe my wishes already exists.

Hi,

I agree with tobias on the additional clicks involved,

but an alternative implementation would be
  • Click on print icon and it directly prints without any dialog
  • click on the arrow next to icon (popup menu like now) where the option to set copies is available
Thanks,

The default value of the dialog could be filled by the report on the
server-side.
