The T. Thomas Fortune Foundation hosts a 2018 African American Read In - spotlighting radical journalist T. Thomas Fortune, whose work at the turn of the 20th century casts new light on present-day conditions and struggles.
We will be reading favorite passages from a book, poem, quotes, and speeches by Fortune, with orators from the NJ Orators Group, Abby Daly from Bridge of Books Foundation, and members of the TTF Foundation.
Doors open at 6PM for meet and greet and some good old eats.  Info: 732-759-0485
The 28th The African American Read-In is a national celebration of African American Culture & Literature.
Sponsored by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and endorsed by the International Literacy Association.

With Special Guest Speaker Ben Marshall

This month's installation of the Let's Talk About.. series features Ben Marshall, an award winning Creative Director, whose diverse background includes a wealth of experience in television, print, digital, graphic design, fine art and music. 
Ben is the recipient of a number of prestigious advertising awards including an Effie and a Telley for a United States Marines T.V. campaign. Marshall was Art Director at Black Enterprise Magazine and now hold the same position with his own company.
