Social Action film:

The Evolution of Ecological Consciousness

Sunday, March 13, 6 pm

1475 West Front Street, Lincroft, NJ

 Unitarian meetinghouse

In The Evolution of Ecological Consciousness, permaculture designer Andrew Faust gives us an inspiring and heady narrative about the evolution of all life and human consciousness on Mother Earth. Andrew co-founded The Center for BioRegional Living, which is creating

infrastructures adapted to local ecological, social and

geological realities. Bioregional economies address social justice, responsible economy, land use equity, sustainable agriculture, and restoration ecology.                                 Free. Light refreshments.

TimeBanking is a tool that leverages the time and talent of community members to support each other via service exchanges.  TimeBank members use a web or smartphone application to post service requests and offer their skills to one another.  One hour of work earns a timebank member one hour of credit that can be used for a service exchange with any other timebank member.  Every hour of service is equal.

TimeBanking fosters ties within neighborhoods, facilitates the creation of supportive relationships, and creates a new kind of economy that features the community rather than money at its core.  Again and again TimeBanking shows that we all have genuine assets, and the ability to create value with our time.

The Core Values of TimeBanking:
  • Everyone is an asset

  • Some work is beyond a monetary price

  • Reciprocity in helping

  • Social networks are necessary

  • A respect for all human beings
