Planned Itinerary
5:30 p.m. Rally in Kennedy Park

6:00 p.m. Anti-Violence Speakers

6:30 p.m. March from Kennedy Park down Cookman Ave to Boardwalk Casino, north on Boardwalk to Convention Hall, then retrace our steps back to Kennedy Park. Bring a sign, a picture, someone's name, electric or digital candles.

7:30 p.m. Candlelight Vigil for Victims of Violence: Say Their Name

7:45 p.m. Moment of Silence and Closing Remarks from Nicolle Harris, local activist and preacher

Greetings All,

It would be great to march on the streets with you for justice against violence. On October 8th, Stand Against Hate Asbury Park is organizing a march and vigil. We hope to see you on the streets:

Love is louder than hate. We want to remind the world that all are welcome and have the right to be safe in our America. On October 8th, we will stand against another form of hate, violence. Domestic violence, gender violence, gun violence, immigrant violence, LGBT violence, racial violence, and sexual violence. This includes every violence.

THIS IS AN ALL-INCLUSIVE EVENT. We had a multiracial, multicultural, multidenominational, and all political persuasions group of 100 organizations join us at the first Stand Against Hate Rally. Join us again to honor victims of violence.

Costs thus far total nearly $1000 and include:

  • $675 Police Coverage
  • $200 City Permit
  • $100 Cleanup

All proceeds go to offset costs and fees related to this gathering. These include City Special Events permit, Police and Security Fees, DPW Fees, Food Purchases, and Printing Costs. For the sake of transparency, we will be posting a detailed list of all incurred municipal fees and costs within a month after the end of the event
