Dear AROWs

I wanted to see if anyone here has experience with getting PBOT to install a bicycle corral? How long does this process usually take from submitting an application to having one installed? I reviewed the application form and it says that the cost of the corral costs $2600. Is there anyway to get this reduced? I work for a non-profit downtown and we are dealing with a really great problem of bicycle overcrowding. We do have a bicycle storage room that is full year round and dangerously overcrowded during the summer months. It's a great problem to have and I would like to create more bicycle parking so it doesn't take a complicated tetris move to get your bicycle out at the end of the day. We literally have no more room in our building to put bicycles and every nook and cranny imaginable that is not the bicycle storage area is now a bicycle area. The next logical step to me is a corral outside but the price tag seems somewhat prohibitive for a non-profit. I wanted to open a thread on this as well as to any other suggestions others have about dealing effectively with bicycle overcrowding in the work space.

Best,

Jeff
