PBOT seeking regional funding for transportation projects

Regional Flexible Funds: What do you think?

Help decide how $33m will be spent in the region on projects to improve walking, biking and moving freight. Could part of it be spent near you to improve ways of getting around for your family?

Cities from across the Portland region have submitted projects to compete for these federal funds. Review project proposals or use the interactive comment map at oregonmetro.gov/rffa and tell Metro what you think.

Learn about our Portland proposals

Learn more about the ten PBOT projects now competing for a share of these regional funds. Metro has already reviewed all project submissions they received from cities in the region, and ranked them with a technical score. In brief, below is a look how our Portland proposals shook out in this initial part of the regional award selection process.

Regional Freight Initiatives

PBOT submitted two out of four total proposals submitted from cities within the region in this category. All four proposals total nearly $8.5M (PBOT's proposals total $3.6M) and there is $7.34M available. The PBOT Regional Freight Initiatives projects and their technical score rankings from Metro are:

  • Central Eastside Access & Circulation Improvements (2 of 4)
  • N/NE Columbia Blvd ITS (4 of 4)

Active transportation/ complete streets proposals

Of PBOT's eight active transportation/ complete streets proposals, four ranked in the top ten for the $25.81M available, out of 27 total proposals submitted to Metro from the region. The PBOT projects submitted for these regional funds and their technical score rankings by Metro are:

  • NE Halsey Safety and Access to Transit (1 of 27)
  • Connected Cully: NE 72nd Ave Ped/ Bike Parkway (2 of 27) FAQ
  • Jade & Montavilla Connected Centers (4 of 27)
  • Outer Stark/ Halsey Complete Streets (7 of 27)
  • Brentwood-Darlington SRTS (11 of 27)
  • Hillsdale Town Center Pedestrian Connections (13 of 27)
  • David Douglas SRTS (17 of 27)
  • N Portland Greenway Trail (19 of 27)
