Hi All,

I try to configure SASL for svn. svnserve is running on a Windows XP,
I installed tortoise svn client, the repository I created is working
perfect without SASL. I performed all steps properly (I tried to do
everything from scratch according to svn book 3 times). I created
svn.conf, modified registry, I created a user in sasldb file; svn.conf
is filled properly. I do everything according to documentation, but
tortoise svn client displays this error message:

"Could not obtain the list of SASL mechanisms"

I tried to find answers using Google, but without any results; I
couldn't find anybody who has the same problem on Windows XP.

I would really appreciate if someone can help me concerning this.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Sanyi

I've tried a SASL setup with svnserve on my Win7 machine. Works just
fine for me here.
Are you sure you did everything according to the book?
Make sure you have no spelling mistakes, that svnserve is started from
its installation path (so that the 'working directory' is the same as
the one it is located in), that you actually have the libsasl*.dll's in
the same directory too.

Hi All,

I think I figured out what caused the problem; I modified the
svnserve.conf before running the server to encryption level 256 (min
and max both). When I reduced the min value to 128; it seems somehow
it is the maximum level of encryption supported by my versions. I use
the latest TortoiseSVN client, and latest SVN server version available
for download.
