Best way to load large video datasets?

What is the best way to load a large video dataset?

I have been using ffmpeg but each video takes around 2 second to load into torch.

I have looked at imagenet-multigpu github repo but even with quite a few threads the time it would take to load the videos would take hours.

Does anyone have any better ways to load in the data to selectively load in the data?
