apply/commit keyboard shortcut

In the "Quick Application Development with SWA (SPARQL Web Pages Application Components)" tutorial, after making some edits, the narrator mentions something called "assigning it" saying it will "automatically format the layout" of the code he just entered. Later he makes some more edits and then "accepts the changes." In both cases, it sounds like he's using a keyboard shortcut, but that shortcut is never mentioned explicitly.

I am wondering what that shortcut is? I repeated some of the basic changes from the tutorial and then use Control+S to save the file, but when I look at the app my changes do not appear to have been captured.

Thanks!

Hi Jason,

Unsure what the time-frame is in the video where that is said. But one thing to check in TBC - from the main menu click on Window > Preferences > General >Keys

You will see the associated keystrokes available and can customize as well.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Jason,

Also when making changes in the form - to accept the changes TBC will have an <enter> tag at the end of the content box.

It may be the case that they are hitting the enter key - after they changed some content to the SWP text.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I probably should have mentioned this in my original post in case it matters, I am using TBCME v5.0 on a Mac.

I tried following the mouse, but it doesn't move anywhere and I can hear an audible keystroke, just wondering what the keystroke was? It happens the first time 4:26 into the tutorial (link to just a few seconds before ... https://youtu.be/JPjKCkMLVco?t=260) and then again at 5:53 (link to just a few seconds before ... https://youtu.be/JPjKCkMLVco?t=349) and a third time at 6:22 (https://youtu.be/JPjKCkMLVco?t=382).

I saw the info about the quick keys in Preferences in another post, but it wasn't in Window > Preferences > General > Keys it was under TopBraidComposerME > Preferences > General > Keys ... I assume this is the same panel you are referring to? I looked through the list (there appeared to be hundreds of commands), but didn't see a description that really matched up with what I "thought" was happening (i.e. saving, applying, commiting a change).

Thanks!

Hi Jason,

Thanks. It is the enter key he is hitting. Look to the upper-right of he textbox and you will see the blue arrow (enter symbol). So he is just hitting the enter key rather than clicking on that arrow.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

That did it! I assumed that pressing <enter> would get me a new line, but it looks like you need to do Shift+Enter or Control+Enter for that.

Thanks for your help!
