When importing an .xlsx the result is data under a generic worksheet schema.

What I would like is that the data becomes individuals under some class (maybe controlled by first row)

Does TBC support this  some way?

e.g.

1.       one column

Device

D1

D2

D3

Where Device becomes class and Dx becomes instance.

Or 2.

Multiple column where each row becomes complex instance

Thx Michel

Thx looking into that esp. semantic tables

Anyway to let it use first column as individual names iso “rowx”?

The white paper is a good summary of current capability, so when it says “No control over URI generation” for Semantic Tables it means what it says. However, TSVs has some supported mapping capabilities, but then it’s one file (i.e. sheet) at a time so there are trade-offs.

FWIW when I need specific column(s) to be made part of the URI of instances, I typically just use TBC to triplize the “dumb" data then SPIN to make semantic sense of the data based on an ontology I created that’s an improvement over the spreadsheet itself. That works all the time, not just specific cases where it happens that the first column is a unique Id.

Cheers,
David

Yes, tabular spreadsheet import approach should do what Michel is asking for –  more details are available in the Help found under: TopBraid Composer > Importing Data Sources > Import external information > Import Spreadsheets>Import Tab-Separated Spreadsheets.
