This Thursday will be a special edition introduction meeting as we
welcome visitors from Portland Maker Week (http://pdxmakerweek.com/).

TOOOL is The Open Organization Of Lockpickers, a group of people focused
on outreach and education relating to physical security. Specifically,
we want you to understand how your locks work well enough to make
informed decisions about how much security they really provide.

Why, you ask yourself, would I want to learn to pick locks?
- It raises awareness of security levels in your day to day life so that
you can protect yourself and your valuables. (How pickable is your front
door? Is your bike lock anything more than a glorified "please don't
steal me" sign?)
- You will know not to be taken advantage of by shady locksmiths if you
lock yourself out of your house/car/etc.
- It helps foster fine motor skills.
- It's fun!
- You will be the last one standing after the zombie apocalypse when
everyone else has run out of food and started eating brains.

Beginners are encouraged to arrive by 7:15 for a beginner intro.
Experts are welcome to come and play any time. We provide tools,
locks, and something interesting for everyone.

Oh, and there are prizes for people who can beat our challenges! Can't
make this meeting? Join this here Google Group so you will hear about
the next one! There is also a calendar to keep track of all this fun
stuff.
