Adding a reminder note to emails

Sometimes I read and email but have to get back to it later (or I'm
waiting for somebody cc'd in the email to reply first). It would be
good if I could add a reminder note for an email thread so I can
recall what my thoughts were when I first read the email.

I could begin an email and save a draft but it seems more clumsy when
it may just be a one line note to follow up with somebody regarding a
particular comment i an email.

This is something that I have also found my self to miss in gmail.
