Train Mountain is applying to Klamath County to re-zone 40 acres around Central Station from the Forestry to a new Train Park zone designed for Train Mountain.

We will apply April 3rd…. but we know the hearing date…. 6:00pm Tuesday June 23rd…. the Tuesday of Triennial Week. We need people to come to the hearing.

In a few weeks I will be asking you for letters of Support. Right now I just want you to plan to attend the hearing. Get it on your calendar.

Last year... April of 2014, Klamath County approved this request and also approved re-zoning 130 acres on Railroad Ridge to allow Train Mountain to develop a track connected residential community. The Oregon Dept of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) did not like the residential development. DLCD sued to block the development and has forced Train Mountain to withdraw the approved re-zone application. The state said NO WAY.

Now TM is re-applying to just get the 40 acres around Central Station re-zoned. TM really needs this. It is the needed first step toward fixing up Blue Caboose campground, new showers and toilets, the museum, and many more improvements. We have to have this.

In April of 2014 we wrote 200 letters and we had a crowd at the hearing. It impressed everyone. We need to get a lot of letters and a crowd again. It does not matter where you live or vote. Your letter and your presence at the hearing will really help.

The hearing is held in the Board of County Commissioner’s hearing room on the 2nd floor at 6:00pm at 305 Main Street in Klamath Falls . Sometimes the front door gets locked, but the rear door is left unlocked.

Plan to attend the hearing.

I will be requesting letters of support in a few weeks.

Thank you for supporting Train Mountain.

John
