Hi,

I am using formTiddlerPlugin [1] to create templates for my tiddlers.
The problem is that tiddlers don't get saved when using macro for
creating new tiddler from template: <<newTiddlerWithForm templateName
"Label">>.

The tiddler is created but not saved. Even if I use Save changes,
nothing happens.

Any ideas?

regards,
seba

Can you report on which versions of

* TiddlyWeb
* TiddlyWebWiki
* TiddlyWiki

you are using?

The plugin you are using does not merge defaultCustomFields before
calling saveTiddler, and thus the new tiddlers do not have the
necessary fields to "know" they are supposed to be saved back to the
server. In TiddlyWiki versions prior to 2.6.5 it was the plugin's job
to handle this. For 2.6.5 a fix was made:

https://github.com/TiddlyWiki/tiddlywiki/commit/81d8fc7bc1cab11f16c16afde80e91097560ca01

but it is incomplete. Since then a more complete fix has been
implemented, but the TiddlyWiki release schedule seems stalled so the
fix:

https://github.com/TiddlyWiki/tiddlywiki/commit/651e6f2670fc10dd306ab9682652d6320b365e70

is not in a released TiddlyWiki yet. I'm going to post over in
tiddlywikidev now to see if I can stir up some action.

If you search this group for defaultCustomFields you'll find postings
which describe what to do to fix it:

https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topicsearchin/tiddlyweb/defaultCustomFields

This one is probably most concise (read the rest of the thread for
context):

So, if you have TiddlyWiki 2.6.4 you need to modify your plugin as
so that is merges defaultCustomFields as described here:
