To follow up from Rob Snowhite's post from last year, and the ones from years past, does anyone have any fishing related New Years resolutions?

How did you do on your resolutions from last year?

I didn't post mine last year but I decided that I wanted to catch a fish in their native environment every month, which ended abruptly in February when I went fishless for the first month in a few years. This year I think I need to tone that back a bit and have the goal of catching a new native species, which is somewhat easily attainable locally and especially so with travel.

I have a bit of an ongoing resolution to simply catch as many different species as possible on the flyrod. My big goal this year will be to land an offshore/pelagic species - preferably a sailfish, but I'll "settle" for a mahi mahi - on the fly rod.

Gink and gasoline had a recent post on this also, i thought number 1 was the best. Spend more time fishing with the people I love. http://www.ginkandgasoline.com/fly-fishing/2014-fly-fishing-new-years-resolutions/

I'm going to add one more to his list. I want to make good on all the conversations I've had with coworkers and acquaintances who have expressed an interest in fly fishing. I want to take those people out, show them what it's all about, and get more people involved. I have so many friends who have said they'd love to try it out and I'm going to commit to introducing more people to fly fishing in 2014.

I want to spend more time catching sunfish this year locally. Even better though would be passing the fff casting test.

I did get a dubbing tool, the cheapo one from Cabelas, learned to use it, and promptly lost it in Pulaski. I picked a new one up at the Cabela's outside Columbus, Ohio (its a relatively small Cabelas so if you go be prepared for half the inventory.) I wan to get my hands on the new Cohen's Carp Dub.

My resolution would be to get a snakehead on topwater, preferably in clear water where I can see it all go down.

Just became self employed again after 5 years at sitting at a desk in doors. My resolution is to live at Fletcher's this year starting in March and ending this fall. With absences for REALLY hot weather allowed. I've always wanted to fish FC past the shad run, never have.

Happy 2014

Bob
