AWESOME BEER TIE LAST NIGHT!!!!!

It was such a pleasure as always to see so many of you at BEER TIE last night!  We had 40 people attend - including Baby Paul who made his BEER TIE debut!  We collected well over 100 flies to split between both CCA Chapters to auction off at their upcoming banquets.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, and THANK YOU ALL who contributed to the fly selections!  CCA will benefit, the winner/receiver of the flies will benefit, and our fishery will benefit as a result!  A win-win-win by any account.  Of course, we all win when we contribute our time and talents to the good of others. 

 

Thank you as well to all who participated in our raffle, which truly couldn't have gone to a better recipient - Sam.  Sam has been tying for a little while now but did not have his own tools until he won the raffle last night - JUST AWESOME!!!  We had a new member, Dan, make the trip all the way up from Fredericksburg, VA just to be with us, and he tied some pretty awesome flies too.  In fact, he donated a motherload of several hundred flies of all types to be distributed at will to anyone who can benefit.  Some will go to the CCA selections, and the rest will be organized and made available for members to pick through at future BEER TIES, and donated to local youth organizations.  A BIG SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU to Dan for providing all of these flies (Dan - please CONTACT ME with your info so I can send you back your boxes).

 

And a HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Rob Snowhite for teaching the whole second half at the "Beginner's Table" for me, and doing such an exceptional job with everyone!  Look for Rob at the "Beginner's Table" at many future BEER TIES, and when you get a chance, give a listen to the Excellent Podcast Rob did covering the recent Somerset Fly Fishing Show.

It was nice to meet everyone last week. You guys sure have a good
thing going up there and I'll be sure to make the trip more often.

Dan, I'm glad you can get some use out of those old flies. Just hold
onto the boxes and I'll get them next time I'm up there.
