Who hosts this? Is there continuous work being done? Just recently found this but posts are months apart and I don’t see any official replies. Very interested in this.

We are supposed to be rolling this project into a bigger and more comprehensive effort, but they've been slow to indicate they're ready. I'll follow up with them again. In the meantime, we'd love to have more contributors. Right now Google Fusion Tables is completely broken and no longer supported, so it's a very manual process to make any changes. This is why we're looking to join the other group, which is building a real database.
