Activity Starter, passing data (and a comment on multiple screens)

Someone in the soon to be shut down Programming forum asked about Activity Starter and passing info between two apps.

The examples here are about activity starter - rm 

The simple example is a simple example that passes date from one app to another.

The new blocks in the new servers that have multiple screens use a very similar mechanism. They may use the same.
