Here is a great one I found:

Hockey Haiku

Gracefully slither
He sneaks to the net untouched
With one swing he scores.

Slash, push, crush, swipe, skate
Big time effort for four hours
Game ends tied, zero-zero

Up on the tundra
You have one of two choices
Hockey or ...ummm...uhhh.....
-Mike A. Crookston, MN (the tundra)

Haiku can be fun
Especially when you drive
A hard bargain plug.

Haikus are actually 7-5-7 syllables.

Why dont we try this.  Whoever writes a haiku posts a single word afterwords and it should be used for the topic of the next one to be written?

so if the previous post had "dandelions" I might do this:

I've seen a dandelion
it must be springtime
nine more months till snowfall

mountains

LO it is 5-7-5,  not  7-5-7 for syllables.

Mountains are serene
Then move snow as winter melts
Serendipity.
