Hi,

I don't know why but it is impossible to launch Tetrad version 10-7. A new error, never seen before, seems to have appeared:

net.sourceforge.jnlp.LaunchException: Fatal: Launch Error: Could not launch JNLP file.
at net.sourceforge.jnlp.Launcher.launchApplication(Launcher.java:600)
at net.sourceforge.jnlp.Launcher$TgThread.run(Launcher.java:889)

... 1 more

I'm far from being expert so maybe it is just a pb on my side. But the version 10-5 works perfectly fine for me... So i don't know. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04

Another point, for the knowledge box, selecting several, or even one, variable to put it one of the thier turns out to be really tricky. The program don't manage to select several one and automatically select the last one above which the cursor goes...

Thanks a lot for your answers

Hi Hadrian,

So I just went to this page

clicked on the 4.3.10-7 link, and it launched. I did make do a bug fix, involving the Tetrad class, so the file on the server is new, but other than that to my knowledge it's the same. So:

(a) Next time I'm at an Ubuntu machine I'll try launching Tetrad 4.3.10-7 to see if it fails for me. Later today maybe.

(b) I should ask you how you tried launching it. Did you go to the above page and click the link? Or did you have a saved copy?

For the multiple selection problem in the knowledge box, how were you doing this? Were you holding down the shift key?

Thanks for the questions!

Joe

Hadrian,

I tried today on my Ubuntu box and got the same result you did. When I looked into it, it seemed that the version of Java was out of date. So I updated Java. But I didn't have time before I left to try whether the problem was resolved. But it's something you could try. I'll try Monday.
