Brand new Windows 7 Tesserat user

I just installed Tesseract and I have the directory now with all the files.  I think I have to do some kind of training, but I can't find any info on what that means.  I tried:

    
 tesseract.exe "D:\Pictures\Group\Scan0004.tif" output -l lang eng

Got Error Messages:

Error opening data file \Program Files (x86)\Tesseract-OCR\tessdata/lang.traineddata

Please make sure the TESSDATA_PREFIX environment variable is set to the parent directory of your "tessdata" directory.

Failed loading language 'lang'

Tesseract couldn't load any languages!

Could not initialize tesseract.

Your command syntax is incorrect.

It should be

-l eng

(lang) is not required. Then it will use eng.traineddata for doing the OCR.
