Gajendra jee,
You must provide a sample text file (of size, say 10 to 20 pp. in MS word) in this font to prepare the converter.

Dear sirs,

can you provide preeti to unicode converter, preeti font is (attached) used in writing nepali (of course devanagari), i visited many nepali sites like mysansar.com, they have unicode to preeti online converters but no preeti to unicode converters.

thanks

Oh, you are not using the Preeti-ASCII-Mapping.doc file.  Please refer to this file. Here, "!" stands for "", and not for nuqta. In order to get "", you have to press "1" in the editor and not "!" which stands for nuqta in the editor.  The "#" in the Preeti font stands for the digit "", so you have to press "3" of the editor to get it, .....the "b" in the Preeti font stands for "द", and not for "ब". How to type "द" from the editor ? Definitely it is "d".  "c" in Preeti font stands for "अ" and not for "च". How to type "अ" ? From the editor table you see that it is "H". .....and so on.

You have to prepare the mapping of the Preeti font and not prepare the table of characters of uninagari. Did you get it ?

For typing the Unicode characters, you may use any editor that is most convenient for typing Unicode Hindi. It is not necessary to use uninagari. If you are efficient in typing devanagari with some other editor, you may use that.

I hope, the matter is clear.

Thanks narayan ji,
that i understood but i can see that the results of devnagari are different e.g. see the bold ones

032   "!","\"","#","$","%","&","'","(",")","*","+",",","-",".","/",

032   "१","ू","३","४","५","७","ु","९","०","८","ं",",","(","।","र",

032  "",""."","","","","".

the bottom line differs from the middle line that you sent me as an example, i only wants to confirm before preparing the map sheet, for example roman "!" resulted in "१" (as sent by you) but when i typed in uninagari editor it is ""

gajendra

Gajendra jee,
Please press F12 (toggle key) to switch over from the Unicode devanagari mode to the English mode or vice versa in case of the uninagari editor. No box should appear for any unicode devanagari character mapped in the table displayed below the onscreen editor textbox.

Narayan ji,
thanks for the converter, but when i type the first line (as )typed by you
i.e  "!","\"","#","$","%","&","'","(",")","*","+",",","-",".","/",

the result comes as

़ ऑ ऒ ॠ ॄ ऋ ॐ ॰ ( )

but your unicode result was

"१","ू","३","४","५","७","ु","९","०","८","ं",",","(","।","र",

here 1 comes as १ and shift 1 (i.e. !) comes as ़

i think there is some problem, suggest if should move forward with uninagari nnp editor.

regards

gajedra
