PaperCut printing to Toshiba copiers

Hi

Have in the past few weeks at Darfield HS had an increasing problem with PaperCut/Google Cloud Print/Toshiba copiers using Toshiba Universal 2 driver. All jobs come out blank. Are charged to students. Same jobs print fine to ordinary printers. PaperCut know about it and said to try changing driver. Printing company we lease the copiers from say that is the right driver. No others seem to be available.

Anyone else had/having this issue and know of a solution? Seems weird that it has occurred mostly this term. We've not made any changes.

Still, worth changing the driver even just for a test. We use "HP Color LaserJet Series PCL 6 CUPS" on our Fujixerox copiers.

Or maybe set up a new printer pointing at the same copier so you don't interrupt those who are printing directly to it and force all the workstations to update their drivers.

Is there colour in the print job ? I had a problem a few years back with a program the lab technician used. The labels had a colour warning image. As soon as I took that out and the job became 100% black, it would print, otherwise the whole page was blank. I think I changed drivers then it all worked.

I remember when we were doing PaperCut we made a special effort to use HP drivers with everything we could.

There are so many hassles out there with print servers with crap drivers that manufacturers supply. There will be times where you do need to use the manufacturer drivers for some specialised stuff but if you can get by with HP universal drivers for as much as possible then it is worth it with the stabiliity and reliability of printing.
