We might be looking at going to Ruckus with WSNUP however I'm dead against the idea of having 1-2U wasted in a network cabinet for PoE Injectors where we already have PoE AT switches or AT 12-port Injectors in place.

Has anyone else been able to compromise with the WSNUP process over this?

We also have UniFi Switches here for PoE since the AirCams take 24V so once again it's wasteful to have them underutilised in places too.

Cheers.

Our WSNUP provided a PoE switch in one block when there were about 6 AP's. They provided the PoE on a rack shelf in the others. but used our existing ones in some cases, so we had some spares (I used them for cameras).

We typically saw WSNUP provide PoE switches or the AT-6112 rack mount mid span when there was more than 8 devices in one cabinet.
I would be pretty shocked if they aren't using your existing kit if it's up to spec.

One thing to note: the cabinets that are specced as part of it  are pretty big - with a prescribed amount of free space.
I know they're ugly, but I don't think you'll notice the lack of space.

Hi Pete.
One cabinet was already 80% full on install. We have a UPS in the bottom (the 1000VA concrete brick sized ones) and that's it full.

Cheers.

Aren't cabinets optional? When we did one a couple of years ago, no cabinets were supplied as the school already had them.

The Unifi switches could be tricky though.

we swapped their oversized one mounted at crack-you-head-on-this-sharp-corner height in the student centre for a little one we had elsewhere..
