Don't how many of you may have seen this article recently from Ars Technica...
I have just had a look at one of our new EliteBook 840 G3's and found it has driver version 1.0.0.31 and the MicTray64.exe is running and there is a log file but 0kb in size.
I did what another commenter had done and used Debug View and found it does indeed log every keystroke to the Debug Buffer!
HP has since updated the available driver on their site and have released a support document on the issue.
I have tried the latest driver myself and while there still is a MicTray64.exe process, it is no longer keylogging nor is there a log file generated.
I have passed this onto TELA/Spark as all schools using HP laptops should be aware, especially with the likes of WannaCry out in the wild.
