I'd take that class.  If there's a reliable, reasonably easy to user printer around I'd probably use it occasionally.

There is a new 3D printer downstairs at the makerspace! It’s called a Flashforge Creator Pro. Who wants to learn how to use it?

A little about the printer

This printer is one of the most polished open source consumer designs on the market today. It is based off of the Makerbot 2X. Some key features include a dual extrusion system allowing for more design options and a level of redundancy so the printer will remain functional longer. The printer also includes a heated and enclosed build chamber which allows for the ability to experiment with stronger and more exotic plastics.

A little about classes

I would like to offer a special free first class to all current members. This will cover the basics of 3D printing and go into how to use this specific printer. We will also cover basic maintenance. In the future should there be enough interest I would like to offer some more advanced courses in 3D printing and CAD design.

A little about me

My name is Matt. I’m a contract mechanical designer by trade but I also have a business in the sale of “maker tech” this includes 3D Printers among other things. Check out my website here www.makerrx.com

A little about costs

As of right now the printer will be free to use. In the future I may require a fee to cover the maintenance of the machine in a similar manner to how the laser is used. As for the cost of filament I would like to offer a special TC maker discount on my store for the purchase of the materials used for printing. You can also select a free makerspace drop off option for FREE SHIPPING BABY!!! (ie. I’m dropping it off lol)

So spread the word about learning how to use this machine and let me know if you’re interested below.

I actually have a makerbot replicator 5th gen but would really enjoy learning some of the more opensource side of the 3D printing world.  So count me in for the class!

I've taught that class!  I will be teaching 3D printing 101 at CoCreateX on March 11th (https://www.facebook.com/groups/CoCreateX/events/) and would be willing to teach it at the Hack Factory April 8th

All,

Sorry for the late reply on this. The message was caught in the spam filter. I'm glad to see the interest in learning about 3d printing at the space. Patrick and I will need to work something out in concern to teaching the classes... I've already agreed to teaching a free introductory class to members.
