Who is the current manager of the craft area downstairs? Is contact
information posted on the wiki somewhere?

Hi, Jeff.

I understand that Kyle Carlson has been the downstairs (Artifactory) manager at artif...@tcmaker.org.

The department's and their managers are on the wiki here: https://www.tcmaker.org/wiki/index.php?title=Shop_Departments

However... Alex Dyba (at al...@getlofi.com) has been doing a lot of the managing down there.  You might try him also.

Thanks, I'll pursue that.

I'm the facilities manager so I take care of the building but I've been doing a lot in the basement in the past 6 months if you just have a question that you think I can answer.

Ahoy, Jeff.

I have returned from an unscheduled monetary and medical sabbatical during these past four to six months or so. Feel free to email me at the email listed above, artif...@tcmaker.org, if we don't cross paths in person.

As the other members in this post stated, Alex and David, as well as some others, have been filling in and maintaining the area during my unannounced and unexpected absence. I fully trust in and support their decisions and knowledge in regards to the space and its usage and rules. I know it's difficult without an exact person to point at for an answer to certain questions but as I said, I stand behind them and their knowledge. :)

I was dropping off my Velleman when I bumped into a guy, James? (who was framing the finishing room) he told me that Alex was moving to India or was it Indiana? at any rate, apparently the artefactory needs someone to keep the 3D printers in good working order and I am your huckleberry. In addition to being so good at 3D printer repair that I now sell that service (http://pintsteinpro.com/repair.html) I also am fairly good at filing paperwork and doing accounting.

I can do basic janitorial duties as well.  what I cannot do is attend board meetings.  the reason you have not seen me around is that I work 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) so I can't do many of the duties that require being at the hack factory at a specific time but I have a lot of morning availability and a passion for helping the next generation get access to reliable 3D printers.

March 11th I will be teaching 3D printing 101 at CoCreateX.  I think that April 8th I should teach 3D printing 101 at TC maker.

I saw the Velleman back down there today, so thank you for bringing that in. Your knowledge and repair services would be invaluable to the Artifactory and I am grateful for your offer. I assume you have most of the parts and tools needed for repairs but if there are specifics you can shoot them to me and discuss having components or etc purchased by the Hack Factory for the machines.

As it stands, we're going to try to have a 3D printer in operation at the Hack Factory's display booth at MarsCon on March 3rd - 5th. I've already asked off work for those days so don't worry about attendance but I do not know enough to operate and troubleshoot any of the 3D printers we currently have down there. As of yet it remains undecided which printer will be chosen for the booth though most likely it'll be either the laser cut one or the one currently connected to the workstation. I have yet to contact Matt or Alex on this but will be doing so shortly after this email to ensure the success of this convention.

Thanks again for your offer and we'll be in contact over that, the booth at MarsCon and also over some signage for the 3D printers themselves illustrating the basics of operation, safety and maintenance. :)
