Hi allo,

first of all: I am using Andorid 6.0.1 with root on Samsung S6 and newest version of tasker.

Is it possible to react upon an incoming email in stanard-email app or is this still only possible with K9 mail?

I'd like to react on mails of certain sender / subject.

Thank you.

You can also use AquaMail, which includes a Tasker plugin.

Hi Scott,

standard email app is not possible?

I don't believe so. There really is no such thing as a "standard" email app, because the phone manufacturers often customize them. K9 is based off of the original Android email app, so if your phone is a Nexus device, or if you install an aosp ROM, you might have some luck. But no guarantees. I've never tested this. I use AquaMail, and it works really well. The tasker plugin is even more robust than the built-in K9 support.

Ok, thank you. I will have a look on AquaMail!

AquaMail developer here - thanks for the reference.

Just wanted to point out, about the plugin:

In the current version (ever since the feature was implemented) the plugin returns message data (sender, subject, etc.) from at most one, newest, matching message (if any) per "batch" of the app's mail sync algorithm.

In version 1.6.2.6 which I'm going to start releasing today, the plugin returns data from all matching messages, as array variables.

The old variables containing data from the newest of those (matching messages) are still there.

Thanks for the heads up, Kostya. I guess I had better start following the forum again. :-)
