Good afternoon everyone,
I am trying to migrate my home screen to Action Launcher but it doesn't support shortcuts so I am trying to use Tasker to replace a shortcut to a Facebook Messenger bubble chat via a home screen widget to start a task with a send intent action.
Does anyone know how to or if it is possible to use the information in the attachment to use Tasker to launch the converation bubble just like the original shortcut would? I have been trying via google and just entering the info from the image into Taskers send intent action but I haven't been able to get it to work.
The information was extracted via a script on Lightning Launcher if anyone is interested btw. The scribble is covering what I believe is obviously the userID of the FB user.

Can anyone help with this or do you have a working example? I have researched a bit and some people have said that intents sent to Facebook apps that are not from other genuine Facebook apps are ignored but this is supposed to emulate a home screen shortcut so should be possible with the proper task/intent settings?

Thanks

Maybe you're trying to do something different than what is supported by Action Launcher, but I believe that Action Launcher does support App Shortcuts, at least in the Plus version: https://goo.gl/73Qdh5.

Hi Rich B,
I looked at the link you sent me and I have nothing like that on the Messenger app icon, on the home screen nor in the app drawer. I do have the plus version but is this perhaps an Android 8 thing? I'm using an S8+ with Android 7 on it.

[sort of edit]
I don't understand; I've just gone to the Facebook conversation I want to add the shortcut for, and went into the menu, clicked create shortcut and it's put the shortcut right on my home screen... how strange. I swear on my life that that never worked before...

Still don't understand why I don't get the options like in the example link provided by Rich...

You might want to ask over in the AL forum on Google Plus. It's my understanding that app shortcuts work on Android 7 as well as 8, but maybe I'm wrong.
