jquery.editable-select initial value not set

Hello Emmanuel,
  I am using jquery editable-select in my Tapestry page. I want to set an initial value to this text field on page load. Since the jquery.editable-select.js has been called before the page activate, I am not able to set the value. Is there any way to modify the js so that I can set an initial value?
