Two Tenure-Track Professor Positions - Tennessee Tech University


TENNESSEE TECH UNIVERSITY, a constituent unit of the Tennessee Board of Regents, invites applicants for two full-time, tenure-track, nine-month positions in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin August 1, 2016. A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or Sociology with a specialization in criminology and/or criminal justice is required by the start date (August 1, 2016).

The department seeks applicants with teaching interests compatible with departmental needs, but particularly in the following: (1) corrections, (2) criminal justice administration, (3) criminology, (4) deviance, (5) juvenile delinquency, (6) law and society, (7) organized crime, and/or (8) victimology.

Applicants are required to have a research plan and demonstrate a commitment to the continued improvement of teaching through high-impact based practices. Applicants must demonstrate collegiality and cooperation within the Department, College, and University. A particularly important part of this job entails working closely with students in order to both recruit and retain majors within the program.
