John Boehner Calls Unsuccessful Americans ‘Losers’ (VIDEO)
April 29, 2012
By Stephen D. Foster Jr.

Mitt Romney is a very wealthy man. For some reason, Americans are
supposed to believe that he earned every penny by working hard and long
like every normal people do. Of course we all know that Mitt Romney lived
off stock investments while in college and after that, he made millions
purchasing and gutting companies across the country. Mitt Romney made a
lot of his money by closing down companies and firing people. Republicans
think Mitt Romney is a success story because of that. Even House Speaker
John Boehner believes that Romney’s wealth and success entitles him to a
victory in November, because according to him, Americans won’t vote for
someone who isn’t wealthy.

During an appearance on CNN with Candy Crowley, Boehner was asked if
Americans will reject Romney because of his wealth and the way he has
bragged about it throughout his run for the Presidency. Boehner replied
that Americans won’t hold Romney’s wealth against him and will elect him
because those who aren’t wealthy successes are ‘losers.’

Candy Crowley: “You know, he comes from a privileged background.
You did not come from a privileged background. This is a time — an
economic time when people are hurting and have been hurting for quite
some time. Do you think that someone who is as wealthy as he is, who
has had as much privilege as he is, has a hill to climb to overcome that?”

John Boehner: “No. The American people don’t want to vote for a
loser. They don’t want to vote for someone that hasn’t been successful. I
think Mitt Romney has an opportunity to show the American people that
they, too, can succeed.”

Here’s the video via ThinkProgress:

See what Boehner did there? He singlehandedly insulted every American who
doesn’t have a mountain of wealth in their bank account. Republicans
consider those of great wealth to be successful and they consider those
who aren’t successful (wealthy) to be ‘losers.’ It underscores exactly
why Romney hasn’t been popular among average voters. Instead, Romney is
seen as a rich vulture capitalist who doesn’t care about poor people,
likes firing people, and constantly brags about his wealth while
struggling to relate to Americans who are having a difficult time in the
current economy. Romney “jokes” about being unemployed too and claims he
knows what it’s like to worry about getting a pink slip. This comes from
a man who had a Swiss bank account and currently has an account in the
Cayman Islands.

Mitt Romney doesn’t understand the struggles Americans go through right
now. He claims he can create jobs in America, but if he had been
President in 2008, the American auto industry would have been allowed to
fail, resulted in millions of lost jobs. Romney’s time at Bain Capital
also resulted in many Americans losing their jobs. Is that how Romney
wants Americans to become successful, by screwing over other Americans?
And then there’s the Republican economic agenda that caused the economy
to crash in the first place. Considering all this, it’s a miracle that
any Americans ever become successful at all. Basically, Republicans have
caused Americans to struggle financially and now these same Republicans
think of struggling Americans as ‘losers.’ Doesn’t that just make you
want to vote for them?

Not only that, but he totally discounts Obama as being exactly that
kind of American who has succeeded from a state of poverty to become
president. Obama, in fact, got further in life, from nothing to the
White House, than Romney has from a starting point of privileged
wealth. Sure, give me a quarter of a billion bucks at birth and I'll
do well and succeed too, but stick me in some low-class neighborhood
with a single, unemployed mom from day one and I'm not so sure I'd
ever get much beyond that, the odds are hugely against for most people
and the tens of millions of poor Americans is proof of that. It's as
if Repugnants think that only the rich succeed, which they often do
with tons of cash behind them already, and are deserving of anything
they want in life.

You see this phenomenon often in societies in decay. Those in privileged
positions come to feel a sense of entitlement; they are rich and
powerful, not due to luck or corruption, but because god has favored
them, or they are superior, or similar rationales.

Your problem Zippy is that you were always incapable of making big
money. And because of it you feel that life, god and good fortune
favors others and didn't favor you. Yup other's won "life's lottery".
You didn't.

What you fail to admit is that you were, and still are too stupid to
make millions. And you always will be.

have a nice day Zippy.

Telsa singlehandedly created the modern AC electrical system. Yet died
esssentially broke.

Albert Einstein created modern physics (or at least half of it) yet
died only moderately well off.

Your definition of "make millions" is implicitly limited to legalized
theft, not creation of valuable ideas, goods, or services.

Bill Gates is worth tens of billions. All from his software company.
Cite one example of a software that was not a ripoff of someone else's
mind.

Funny you should mention Bill gates. I used to work for him. That's
where I made my millions.

Thanks for playing.

That's because Edison tricked him out of getting a simple contract on
paper. Put another way, Edison played on Tesla's impetuous nature and
fragile temperament...

worked for Edison!
