Hah! Wilful embellishment and nonsense. Deiopea started life as just one
among many Nereids with Homer, no speaking lines whatsoever, before she
got her own spin-off show with Virgil. Just because even for a Nereid,
she was "praestanti corpore" - which shows you that looks get your
further in this business than talent.

Not to be confused btw with the Eurhamphaeidae of the same name, which
is also quite beautiful, but mainly to other comb jellies
