The problems became quickly apparent -- namely, that there was a far
wider scatter of values than Sibley and Ahlquist had published, and
this was just 1/8 of their data, and there was no human-chimp link.

No link? I'm shocked i tell`ya. SHOCKED!

This makes one wonder WHAT ELSE has been exaggerated to foist the
theory of evolution upon young unsuspecting minds.

It makes one wonder about the ole` peer review thingy. THAT's for sure!

That page looks like a replica of this page:

except that it omits a link to the second page:

Assertions 101 again When will you ever pass the final exam. It has
only one question. It is really a Christian based course. I'll give
you the exam question. All it requires is that you answer it
honestly. It can be answered with a simple yes or no. Do you think
your God approves of your actions on TO?

You have no idea of the issues involved here or what any of this means.
You are noe equipped even to quote-mine.

For anyone actually interested, I think that this should help:
Felsenstein, J. 1987. Estimation of hominoid phylogeny from a DNA
hybridization data set. Journal of Molecular Evolution 26:123-131.

This is also old (20 years) news. DNA hybridization isn't too bad a
method for investigating human relationships, but it's long been
superseded by DNA sequences, all of which shows that, whatever the
weaknesses of their data or analyses, Sibley & Ahlquist were right in
their conclusion.

Come back when you actually find a credible site.

Madman (aka Mudbrain) is on record as claiming:-

That 3.5% actually means 25%...

That the actor Paul Newman was a creationist...

That "Dr." Kent Hovind has made lots of *scientific* discoveries...

That wars have been fought because some scientific finding discredited
some facet of some religion...

To have a "higher education" than most posters to this news group...

To understand how geologists determine the age of any given sample of
rock...

That trilobites were Cambrian mammals... [that one still makes me
laugh]

And that he has "created genes" and not evolved ape genes...

That linguists have traced all the world's languages to the Middle
East region and back to around the same time as the bible claims Noah
and his sons rebuilt mankind.

Claimed that talk.origin's moderator was a troll.

Claimed cigarettes do not cause cancer.

Now, I ask you, is this the sort of guy you would give an credence to?

There was some movie I saw part of that had the premise that humans
had bred themselves to the moron level, and some slacker wakes up from
suspended animation to be the smartest guy in the world. Their TV
shows seemed to consist of guys getting kicked in the balls and
everyone laughing. adman would fit right in and it would likely be
less painful than his posting to TO.

When are you going to get your brain fixed? How about that valid and
honest anti-evolution argument? Why do you think that you haven't
found one yet? You have tried hundreds, but they have all blown up in
your face. Are you going to put up the Moon dust argument again? How
does it affect you to find out that such an argument was bogus the day
that it first put forward? What about Osama? If you aren't a
masochist what are you? What kind of person would knowingly keep
putting up bogus arguments when they haven't found a single one that
was what they thought that it was? You put up some junk recently that
was bogus 30 years ago when the scientific creationists were using it
as part of their obfuscation scam. It wasn't even the creationi
science that they claimed to have, it was just the bogus smoke that
they would put up to fool the ignorant into thinking that they had an
argument.

So where is that honest and valid anti-evolution argument? Doesn't it
mean anything to you to understand that you can't find one? Just put
up another laugher. Osama was your last one that I recall that you
claimed was honest and valid, and that wasn't even an argument against
evolution. It was just your bogus claim about what some madman might
think or do. Osama never made any threats like that, that I have ever
heard of.

Unfortunately the lawyers like Philip Johnson that are involved in the
ID/creationist scam didn't have the excuse of the lawyers in the
movie. The ID perps knew what they were doing, but did it anyway.
They may have had some other form of mental incompetence, but they
were not morons. That could probably be said of most of the anti-
evolution creationist posters on TO. In the last several years only
one of the regulars (adman) has claimed to have an honest and valid
anti-evolution argument, and that is only because he is likely a
pathological liar that seems to get his kicks out of being caught
lying and is likely crazier than the average. They all seem to know
how bad their arguments are, but they just can't help themselves.

This is a quote from Philip Johnson only after the ID perps lost in
court (2005). This statement was made years after the ID perps
started running the bait and switch scam on their own creationist
support base (2002-2003). No one ever got the promised ID science to
teach to school kids. Johnson is known as the "godfather" of the ID
movement by the other ID scam artists for his efforts in getting the
movement rolling back in the 1990s. He doesn't even appologize for
running the bogus scam for a decade. He just blames the "science" ID
perps for never coming up with any ID science to teach. What did he
think that he was selling for over a decade?

QUOTE:
I also don’t think that there is really a theory of intelligent design
at the present time to propose as a comparable alternative to the
Darwinian theory, which is, whatever errors it might contain, a fully
worked out scheme. There is no intelligent design theory that’s
comparable. Working out a positive theory is the job of the scientific
people that we have affiliated with the movement. Some of them are
quite convinced that it’s doable, but that’s for them to prove…No
product is ready for competition in the educational world.
END QUOTE:

evolution creationist arguments that you have been able to determine
are honest and valid? adman, do you want to try again?
