January 2017 Newsletter 2017 Greetings! Here's to a prosperous and exciting 2017 Chinese New Year  of the Fire Rooster! We have many developments in the pipeline for the International Society for the System Sciences in 2017 and we hope that you, or some of you, will join us in building the success of the conference and society over the year! Highlights: ● New Year, New Logo! ● 61st Meeting in Vienna New Year, New Logo At the 60th Meeting of the International Society for the Systems Sciences Meeting in Boulder, July 2016, the new International Society for the Systems Sciences logo was uncovered.   The ISSS logo, derived from the integral sign originally used by the founders of our society, illustrates the society's primary interest in integration and synthesis and can be used to demonstrate these principles. This previous version of the logo, adopted by ISSS in 1997, was designed by Thomas M. Mandel, the founding webmaster of ISSS.org. The new logo aims keeps the original idea of the integral symbol with a dashed circle surrounding the symbol to denote the boundary of an open system. Systems Thinking for Everyone | Vienna 2017 The ISSS 61st Annual Meeting  "From Science to Systemic Solutions Systems Thinking for Everyone"  aims to bring together the business community and systems scientists to explore real world issues and design solutions. The conference will commence on Monday, 10th July to Friday, 14th July.  The Conference is being held at The Messe in Vienna, Austria.  We are working on an impressive line-up of speakers from industry and the science community. Public evening presentations, workshops, and a graduate course are all part of the program too. We look forward to seeing you and hearing your research whether it be presenting a paper, conducting a workshop, presenting ideas and participating in "Systems Thinking for Everyone".
