Interesting discussion about facts, truth and ethics...

Arthur D. Hall in, "Metasystems Methodology," 1987 covers these aspects in some detail in Section 2.8.1 "The Critical Distinctions Among Three Kinds of Truth."

Formal truth, factual truth and value truth all play a role in systems identification, creation and/or evaluation.

The ethical issues associated with the assignment of value truth is one of the more interesting areas facing an individual that participates in these types of system activities.

As Hall states, "There is no unique kind of argument required to validate value sentences."

The selection of the base argument may well be an ethical judgment....

Take care, be good to yourself and have fun,

Joe
