Hi. I am writing this email to the ISSS, UKSS, ANZSYS, Systems Thinking World, 21st Century Agoras, Systems Sciences and IFSR.
Michael Johnson (University of Massachusetts Boston, USA) and I are editing a special issue of European Journal of Operational Research on Community OR. We welcome proposals of papers (1-2 pages) by 30 October 2015, and those writing the most compelling proposals will be invited to work them up into full papers. Manuscripts will be expected by 31 July 2016.
We are sending this to the systems community as well as the OR community because we recognise that there is a substantial overlap of interests between the fields of Systems Thinking and Community Operational Research, and a lot of systems thinkers apply their ideas to community development. Even application areas outside of community development (such as health and environment) are relevant, as long as the emphasis is on keeping the community central in planning and decision making.
Please can you distribute the attached call for papers through your mailing lists along with the paragraph I’ve put in bold above.
