Hey all,  I have a need for super thin boards -  1/6th inch thick, by about 24" x 6"

I bought some off the internet but now I need more, and worry about a time crunch. Is there a way that I can reliably and easily do my own at the shop? I was thinking of resawing on the band saw.. or the table saw a piece of stock dimensional lumber.. but I've never done it before.

Buy 4mm or 5mm poplar plywood at lowes, that's basically 1/6th of an inch. Cut down to the dimensions you need on the table saw.

You could buy thicker boards and resaw on the bandsaw, but you will need to build a jig to ensure it stays square. That's thin enough that it would be difficult on the tablesaw; your waste would be about as much as the boards themselves.

You also generally need a blade that's made for resawing, and there is a
bit to consider if you want good results. This page has some good info:

We don't have the tools to reliably do that other than to just plane a board down to the thickness you want. There is a good resaw band saw at the community tool chest.
