I have purchased SyncMyCal for use at work, and I am dismayed to find
I cannot sync. I am getting the following error messages in the log:

------------------------------------------------

Message : Execution of request failed:

http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/[generic.email]@gmail.com/private/full

Source : Google.GData.Client

InnerException : The remote server returned an error: (417)
Expectation
failed.

Google Server Error : <!-- squid -->

Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks,
Alan.

PS: I did file a support ticket, but its been a few days and my needs
are (were) time sensitive.

I have posted the following on my support ticket. I guess calendar
syncronization with multiple outlook calendars is not in the cards for
me...

I am wondering if any real-time technical support is available.
I have noted that there is no telephone support listed on the website.
The built-in support of the product (MailTo function of the error log)
has not elicitied a reply.
The "Live Support" button on your website is "offline" at all times,
and I check frequently.
I have posted on the Google Groups without reply.

It has been 4 days, and I needed a solution yesterday.
If you are able to give me a reply, please do so. If more information
is needed, please let me know. If there is really no solution, please
inform me as well and give me instructions on how to obtain a refund.

Thanks,
Alan

Alan,

I have had this program for months and it worked fine. Then about a
month ago I started getting Error 417 and can't sync. I have sent
numerouos emails to their tech support and received only 1 reply which
said they were "working on the problem". So now the program is useless
for me. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I have tried
creating a new Goggle calendar and syncing with that.

Bottom line. The program does not work for me and their tech support
is non-existent as far as I can see.

Were you able to solve your problem? Did you find another program to
replace this one?

Thanks

Bert

@Bert

Actually, I was able to briefly get some calendars to sync, after
deleting my google calendars and re-creating them. Interestingly,
this required multiple sync attempts. My first "success" after
multiple failed repeated attempts simply synced the first calendar in
the list successfully, then gave errors for the remainder. After
that, successive calendars have synced.

Unfortunately, that day was the only day. One notable point was that
when a calendar synced successfully, I happened to have that google
calendar open and visible as the active window on my screen at that
time. At this point I am not going to repeat the complete experiment
by re-creating my Google calendars - I have a full-time job.

My experience with SyncMyCal support has been identical to yours.
Even if they eventually came up with a fix for this problem, I don't
think I could subject my partners to the downtime between tech support
responses. If I ever find a way to contact the company, I will be
trying to get a refund.

Alan,

Thanks.

I have abandoned syncmycal -- too many problems, too little support. I have
started using gSynchit which works for me with no problems.
