Hi all,

I've acquired a Wolfson Audio Card (https://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-55903?ICID=Pi-Accessories-wolfson-audio-space) for Raspberry Pi and would like to use it to make a music player for my home.

The catch is the card is only compatible with a narrow range of older Raspberry Pi models. These are Model A and Model B revision 2. NOT Raspberry Pi 2 or 3.

The important part is the board has to have the 8-pin P5 headers shown in the picture below, just south of the GPIO header.

If anyone has one of these older boards they'd be willing to sell or trade, please let me know!

Cheers,
Sam

Hi Sam,

I have a Raspberry Pi (1) Model B Rev 2.0 (i think) which i've left in the glass cabinet for you.

I don't know if it's a256 or 512mb version (it's not plugged in).

I'd love a rpi3 or piW if you have one as a trade, but am open to offers?

Kris

I have on of those cards. Unless there is now support in the current kernel (there wasn't last time I looked) my advice would be to get another DAC card

I'll give this one a go first, thanks Matt. And thanks Kris for the Pi!

I had success with the following patch and instructions;

RuneAudio is based on Arch Linux, I don't know enough to tell if the patch could be useful in other cases.

Looks like there may be support in the 4.x kernel now.

I'm going to try this at some point

Thanks Kris, but I already have an old model A connected to the board.
I gave up using it because the kernel support was crap. Maybe now it's in the mainline kernel I'll try again.
