Hi again folks.

I just received a couple of RPi cases.   Neat!   They also came with a 3.2 inch TFT display which plugs into the Pi and it becomes a fully working machine.   Even with a touch pen!

It isn't rocket science to build and the "Trade off" with having the display is the top piece of the box/case is not used.

Yeah, well that's kind of "fair enough" as if there is a display there, why have a cover?   But it got me thinking......
Yes, this is dangerous - so I have been told.      ;)

If the two side pieces, which run down the side of the Pi were just a couple of mm higher, then the lid COULD fit as well.

This way it would be a kind of "Screen protector".

I would love to bring it there and discuss the idea with people to see how easy that would be.   Because I think it would be a good thing for at least one application I have for the Pi.

Oh, and possibly while at it, a place to put the "pen" so it doesn't get lost/misplaced when not in use.

Alas just now I am downloading the drivers for the display, and it says it will still take an hour.    :(
 1.2 GIG file for DRIVERS!!??

Anyway, hope to get there one day soon when the space is open.

There are a couple a bit cheaper if you look.

Neat idea, but as I said, they are missing if they made the case just that little taller.

I'd start here:
http://www.thingiverse.com/search/relevant/things/page:1?q=raspberry+pi+case+laser+acrylic&search_mode=advanced&description=&username=&tags=&license=

And work out which one of those comes closest to fitting around your
screen, then modify the files and laser cut one (then repeat at least
two or three times as you realise why your first idea wasn't a great
as it could have been...)
