Hi All,
There's been a few people asking about doing glasswork recently, so we're going to run another workshop on making stained glass, as well as small scale glass firing.
If you're not aware, the space has a rather nice set of tools for cutting and making stained glass, as well as more sophsticated tools like a large electric kiln, as well as a mini kiln that can make fused glass pieces in the microwave.
There's few materials as satisfying as glass to work with. You can play with textures, light & shape, plus you can fuse different pieces together in ways unheard of with standard materials.
If you have been waiting for an excuse to come to Robots and Dinosaurs, here's your chance. New people welcome, as well as existing members.
(And of course the space will still be open for general making)
Time: 12 noon, this Saturday 8th October
Venue: Robots and Dinosaurs, Unit 10, 27 Bank St Meadowbank.
(Western side of the station and inside the horseshoe of offices behind the takeaway places).
Cost: Free to Robot and Dinosaurs members and first time visitors
There's a bunch more photos of the previous workshop here:
Cheers,
Gavin
P.S. Terribly short notice for this one, sorry. Work's been hectic on my side. If you can't make it but really want to have a go, let me know, we'll be running another workshop again at some stage.
