Unable to load .json file from URL

When I try to point the online editor to my *.json url nothing happens.  I can't see any error messages but the content never changes.  Is it because CORS is not enabled on my server?

I have also tried uploading the file itself, but it appears external references can't be resolved that way.

It could be a CORS issue, yeah. Can you check the browser’s web console for any errors?
