Validation with swagger annotations in java

 I have a question about swagger and java : I am quiet new with java and I am building a rest api in java with Jersey + spring, I wanted to do some validation on my models (input data) how could I do that ?
is there a way to do it with the swagger annotation @ApiModelProperty ? Or Do I need to use a separate component like the Bean validation ?

That may do just what you're after.
