Best practices to keep the editor fast and responsive?

I have a growing api definition with ~30 endpoints, ~20 responses and ~30 definitions (most of them being just minimal place holders for the expected data). The editor becomes increasingly slow (on a MacPro, 2008)

Are there any best practices to keep it responsive and fast?
