Has anyone tried having STW running on two different web servers, both pointed to the same SQL Server database for the Pages Storage Provider?

We want to set it up on a different server for server load testing purposes, and I'm not sure if I should make a complete copy of the database for the new one, or if I can just point it at the existing one.

For all I know, this could be a Very Bad Thing, which is why I'm asking.

I haven't dug through the code to verify, but the Sueetie guy said that Core STW doesn't use table-prefixes, leaving it to step on itself, or anything else that might share a table-name. Adding a wiki-specific prefix was one of the Sueetie mods.

YMMV.

That would be a good issue, and ticket to fix.

And not too tough -- we've got the Sueetie source, annotated as to what has changed, to work with here.

What I want to do is set up the application on a different server, pointing at the same wiki content on the database server.  After reviewing the old how to instructions again, would this qualify as a web farm installation?

Could you link to, or copy-paste the HOWTO you're looking at?

I usually think of a wiki farm as one application providing different content in different locations.

This is interesting...

Here's the page in the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20120618222021/http://www.screwturn.eu/Help.InstallWebFarm.ashx
(Not a wiki farm, but a web farm for the same wiki, as I understand it.)
